Please RSVP here so we can send you more information with support and training available, and to find out about legal implications – you may be pleasantly surprised.
The SA Anti-Protest Laws, passed in May last year, penalise peaceful protest and undermine democratic rights for all.
Join us to mark the first anniversary of the passing of these draconian laws with a big, loud and inclusive rally at Parliament House, followed by an (optional) mass sit-down on the road.
Standing in the way of business as usual but staying completely peaceful and passive sends a message of love, defiance and alarm. It gives people an opportunity to reflect on their values, and for us all to tell the truth about what should be daily news.
We do not expect everyone to join in the sit-down part of this rally. If you choose not to sit down we’d love it if you could show support by staying on the side of the road and joining in cheering, chanting and singing for people who are making this powerful protest.
Now is the time for people to step into their courage, go a step further, and take the necessary action. So, if you think you are ready to be in resistance against this unjust, undemocratic system, or want to find out more, please register for updates and we will be in touch with further details.
