National Week of Antipoverty Action

Last years budget saw the government toss people in poverty some spare change from their surplus, it barely made a dent to the cost of living that people in poverty are being left to weather while the rich get richer.

This year we're going to make sure that the government knows that we don't care about their pitiful words and platitudes and that at the next election we'll be making it about those in poverty are afforded what they deserve.

A collective of antipoverty groups are coordinating events both on online and in person to raise awareness and get a straight answer out of politicians, we're demanding.

1. Increase all payments to at least the Henderson Poverty Line
2. End punitive mutual obligations and stop cutting payments
3. Large scale public housing

We'll be hosting both online and in person events to begin the push.
